Christmas Card - 1

Here's my first design for Christmas cards this year. :). Love this paper and the colors in it. Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon???  Hello!  I like this layout, saw something like it on Pinterest, for a couple of reasons.

1.  It's simple.
2.  Doesn't use a lot if DSP, but gives you a big enough piece to show it off.
3.  Eliminate that too much white space feeling by using a colored base. (This is such a duh moment for me!)

For the embellishments I literally dropped them on the card (without adhesive) until I liked the layout. (Ok, I dropped and re-dropped, and gave it some encouragement until I found what I liked.). New trick for me with the embellishments and attaching rhinestones, glue dots, was to use my paper piercer. Fabulously easy way, easier than snips.

Next up will be taking this and adding some modifications to step it up, a bit.

Enjoy!  <3

Convention Time!!!!

Soooo.....getting ready to go to my first Stampin Up convention in Salt Lake City. What have I gotten myself into?!?!?!?!

Going with Selene, aka - Stamping Yoda, so I know I'm in good hands.

I'm in one official swap, which needs 51 cards. Holy smokes did I not know what it takes to make that many cards!!!  Planned and prepped for 60, some minor boo-boo's, so I thought, NBD, I'll be fine. Turns out I have 64 made. Me and math, oh my!  That's why I tell people, I only do math in excel.

Here's a sneak peek of the cards. Will share more later, once they're swapped and all.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting outside waiting for my ride to the airport. Yeah, they won't be here for another 20 minutes, but ya know I couldn't wait!

Cards for July Team Swap

Think I rolled my big shot more times this weekend then ever in its little life!  22 cards for the swap today, each card with 5 different pieces cut from the big shot. That's a lot of cranking.

First time using this set. Not sure I got the hello fully conditioned, but looks a lot better than out of the box.

Using:
Perfect Pennants
Moonlight paper pack
Banners framelits

Hope my swap mates all enjoy!!!

Look Ma! It's a blog post!

Long work week. Tomorrow will be 5th office in 5 days, crazy!

Tonight I started repackaged since I check out in the morning. Oh, and speaking of morning....yeah, I get to commute by car into NYC tomorrow. Leaving early. Yuck.

So obviously, instead of going to bed early, I did my nail art instead. I'm wearing OPI's Pinking of You for everyday that my friend has breast cancer. On top of that I am going to a breast cancer fundraiser on Saturday, so I added these little stickers. I severely messed up one , so that became an accent nail. Lol. Note: I'm not very good at putting these little things on , but that's ok.   Toodles!

Finished Objects :)

Productive weekend! Finished (except for blocking) my Valeria Shaw and my Bex socks! Decided the only way to celebrate was to do the dishes! Haha, jk! I casted on for my Raindrop Lace Socks, first sock was done over a year ago, so I figured it was time to make its match. Oh, and I seriously did do the dishes today. Fo' realz.

Christmas Knitting

This year I managed to knit two Christmas gifts! Quite an accomplishment. I made the green hat below for my dad, using Cascade 220 Superwash and a pattern called Armando's Hat by Gina House.

I also knit a pair of fingerless mitts for my sister in law (not the ones pictured below). The ones below are a pair of fingerless mitts for myself. I had a pattern in mind for them, but when I wrapped the skein up into a ball, I realized the yarn weight was a lot lighter then I had originally thought. NBD, off the Ravelry I went and found another pattern to use. This is yarn I bought at Tess's yarn shop and it is CASHMERE! Oh-la-la!

Both the photos were taken with my Android phone, so not the best shots. :(
